Scaling Cybersecurity Communications Through Design Systems
As lead UX/digital designer at ReliaQuest, I was brought in to redesign the website, develop brand identity, and establish comprehensive systems for digital and social advertising. My work encompassed building a design system from scratch, website redesign, email marketing optimization, data visualization design, and integrated campaign design across multiple channels during a period of significant company growth and business evolution.
Objectives
- Design and develop a scalable design system from scratch to establish consistent visual language and operational efficiency across all digital touchpoints
- Lead comprehensive website redesign to improve user experience and support business growth
- Establish systematic approaches for digital and social advertising campaigns
- Design and optimize email marketing systems to improve engagement and conversion rates
- Create integrated campaign experiences across multiple channels and major industry events
- Develop brand identity elements and visual guidelines for consistent application
The Challenge
ReliaQuest was scaling rapidly in a competitive cybersecurity market without systematic design infrastructure. All marketing creative was produced bespoke without systematic foundations, making rapid scaling and consistent experiences difficult. There were no established processes for creating recurring marketing assets (website graphics, social posts, advertising for events, features, case studies) which was slowing campaign execution and creating inconsistent brand experiences.
Complex cybersecurity concepts needed to be accessible to diverse audiences, from technical SOC analysts to C-suite executives, while the company maintained competitive differentiation in a crowded marketplace. The goal was creating a cohesive digital ecosystem that could support aggressive business growth while establishing scalable design infrastructure from scratch.
